This is a summer book club for Grades 3-6.

We will share reading the book The Big Dark by Rodman Philbrick and

The Transall Saga by Gary Paulsen. Visual props will be used and ideas shared.

Children will illustrate scenes from the book. Light refreshments will be provided.

Weather allowing, we may be outdoors with our feet in a baby pool.

Kelly Fees from Patterson’s Flowers will discuss terrariums while Mrs. Heisey

will talk about our Earth, the importance of plants and their role on our planet.

Learn how a terrarium mimics our planet and then build one to take home.

Prizes will be awarded.

The Wright Flyer in History

with Nick Engler

Nick Engler will discuss the Wright Flyer, its history and the Wright Brothers.

Mr. Engler has flown all experimental Wright Flyers.

Connie Tobias will also be speaking. She is a 20,000 hour pilot with American Airline and the only woman to fly a Wright Flyer. She will do a portrayal of historic female pilot, Harriet Quimby.

A flight simulator will be available for children to try, which may be filmed for commercial use.
