Volunteering at the Library

The Library’s volunteer program is designed to expand and enhance public service to the community. Volunteers generally provide support services to paid staff and/or work on special projects.

An adult who would like to volunteer at the Library must complete a volunteer application form, a volunteer interview, and provide up to three references. Prospective volunteers will be contacted when an assignment fitting their interests and abilities becomes available. There is no guarantee that every volunteer will be accepted.

Teens must complete a volunteer application form and attend a teen volunteer training session prior to volunteering. The library volunteer coordinator will schedule and coordinate all teen volunteer activities.

Adult volunteers must complete a BCI background check to work with children under the age of 18.  Teen volunteers must submit a reference letter along with the application in order to work with children under the age of 18.

If you are interested in volunteering with us at Milton-Union Public Library please print and fill out the Application for Volunteering and return it to us. We would love to meet you!
