The region-wide "One Book, Many Communities" program kicks off on Thursday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Paris Public Library, 127 East Main Street, St. Paris, Ohio, with A History of Bluegrass Music featuring Bill Purk and Reed Jones.
The Milton Union Public Library will be hosting two events to add to this program. The first event is the High Nooner's Book Discussion. This book discussion is a casual book club that will be reading "The Widows". This meeting will take place on March 16 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. The second event is "The Forgotten Women of Miami County". This event is hosted by Sandy Gurklies from the Troy Library. This event gives the stories and details of women from around Miami County that had "odd jobs" for the eras they lived in. These women were airplane pilots, newspaper editors, fought for rights and others.
On April 19, starting at 6:00pm, we will be hosting a watch party of the finale to the "One Book, Many Communities" program. We will be watching a LIVE stream from Edison State Community College of author Jess Montgomery doing a Q&A about the book. Guests can submit questions that will be asked to Montgomery.
