My Book and Me Program

March 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 6:30 - 8:00pm  

The purpose of this program is to encourage children to write a variety of short stories and illustrate them with various art methods and materials throughout the course of four sessions.  The program is to encourage children to be creative and overcome their fear of writing.  The beauty of this program is that there are no rigid guidelines, so the child can feel free to write and illustrate whatever they want.

Dayton was well established by the 1850s and its industry included railroad car, farm equipment and tobacco manufacturing; flour mills, paper mills, spice mills and distilleries. Brewing beer and other spirits were big business that lasted well into the new century. In this program, we will explore the lives of the brewers and the successes and failures of their endeavors.
