My Book and Me Program

March 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 6:30 - 8:00pm  

The purpose of this program is to encourage children to write a variety of short stories and illustrate them with various art methods and materials throughout the course of four sessions.  The program is to encourage children to be creative and overcome their fear of writing.  The beauty of this program is that there are no rigid guidelines, so the child can feel free to write and illustrate whatever they want.

Saturday matinee will be on March 7 and 21 at 2:00pm

We will be watching "The Lorax" on Saturday, Mar. 7 and "Horton Hears a Who" on Saturday, Mar. 21

Woodland Cemetery Presents Bottoms Up! Early Brewers in Dayton
Dayton was well established by the 1850s and its industry included railroad car, farm equipment and tobacco manufacturing; flour mills, paper mills, spice mills and distilleries. Brewing beer and other spirits were big business that lasted well into the new century. In this program, we will explore the lives of the brewers and the successes and failures of their endeavors.

Living on the Wild Side program presented by Aullwood Audubon Center.

Thursday, Mar. 12 from 6:30 - 7:30pm

Sam Romeo, the Adult Program coordinator at the Aullwood Audubon Center, will be discussing native Ohio plants.  He will explore their benefits, gardening, purchasing, and medicinal values.  Examples will be available for viewing.  A "tie in" to the One Book Many Communities book will be mentioned.  Light refreshments will be available as well as a door prize!

"Care to Prepare" program presented by Brandon Coate Law Office, ltd.

Wednesday, Mar. 18 from 6:00 - 7:00pm

Brandon Coate will discuss advanced directives and living wills.  He will explain what the purpose of each form is as well as the pros and cons of use.  Questions and answers are welcome, and standard forms will be available to take home.  A "tie in" to the One Book Many Communities Book will be mentioned.  Light refreshments will be provided as well as a door prize.

Tuesday, Mar. 24 from 7:00 - 8:00pm
